Throughout Key Stage 3 there will be speakers from outside agencies to focus on topics taught and career opportunities through Geography.
KS4
There are two tiers of entry for this specification: Foundation and Higher. Students entered for the Foundation Tier are eligible for grades C–G. If students fail to attain a grade G, we report their results as unclassified (U). Higher Tier students are eligible for grades A*–D. We provide an allowed grade E as a ‘safety net’ for Higher Tier students just failing to secure a grade D. This course is divided into six themes. These are outlined in more detail below.

Students base their answers on their knowledge and experience of fieldwork.
Students must bring a fieldwork statement and table of data to the examination.

The Geography GCE specification has a modular structure. Students must study two units at AS level and two units at A2 Level.

AS 3 - FieldWork Skills & Techniques External Written Examination (1 hour) Students must bring a table of data and summary statement to the examination covering the aims and context for their fieldwork.
There are two compulsory, structured questions. Question 1 Students may be required to present, analyse, interpret and evaluate their fieldwork data and the techniques they used to collect it.
Question 2 Students repsod to quantitative and qualitative data from secondary sources.

AS 3 - Decision Making in Geography External Written Examination (1 hour 30 mins) This is a compulsory decision making exercise in the form of a case study. |
