Joy and relief filled the air at St Ciaran’s College today as students collected their GCSE results. The school is celebrating record-breaking results with 97% of pupils achieving A* to C grades and seven students successful in attaining a line of A star and A grades.
Top achiever Nicole Nixon achieved nine A stars and one A and is joined by Eimear Canavan, Ciara Kavanagh, Cailin Nixon, Finnbar McElroy, Pauric Traynor and Enya Mellon who also all achieved top results in the school.
Teachers and students celebrated together at the school on Thursday morning when the results were released. Principal, Mr Paul Lavery, paid tribute to the hard work of the pupils and the high quality teaching they received. “Success is a team effort and all staff are involved in helping the pupils achieve their best along with the support and encouragement of our parents.”
Though the headline results are very pleasing and welcomed we at St Ciaran’s very much focus on the individual results of each of our students, setting high targets to raise and inspire aspiration for all.
It is a privilege to congratulate all of our students who achieved excellent grades and those who made great efforts to achieve their target grades and in some cases exceed expectation. St Ciaran’s pupils have worked with great determination and focus in order to achieve their outcomes and as a school we share their delight and celebration.
Many of the students receiving results today will return to St Ciaran’s to pursue Post 16 studies with many pathways available for students including A level and BTEC courses. Today’s terrific results are on the back of successful AS and A Level results last week.
