Catholic Schools Week
The Archdiocese of Armagh has held their own launch service to mark Catholic Schools Week. The mass toolk place at St John the Baptist Church, Drumcree and celebrated this year’s theme, “Normal Lives, Called to Holiness”. All Star Huge congratulations to Erin McGinn our Ulster Schools All Star! A richly deserved honour for a player who has shown outstanding commitment and talent throughout her seven years representing St Ciaran’s , always leading by example both on and off the pitch. Extended Schools Programme
Another successful Extended Schools Programme ahs taken place, with P7 students from St. Mary’s P7 Ballygawley, & St Mary’s PS Cabragh taking part in Coding, Art & Technology lessons. Cross Country
District E Cross-Country Well done to all our students who competed in last week’s Cross Country Championships in Necarne, Irvinestown. In tough conditions, the students excelled and can be very proud of their performance! Open Night
On Thursday 18th January, we celebrated our annual Open Night event, which was an extremely enjoyable night for all. St Ciarans Connected – Gym
We would like to thank everyone who so generously donated to our crowdfunder to help develop a new school gym. We are incredibly grateful for your support and belief in this project. Our year 10 classes took part in a Young Enterprise run hands-on event on real world business skills. It was a great workshop for our pupils with lots of ideas, teamwork and future entrepreneurs in the making


Primary School Visits
Our Year 8s have been busy returning to their former primary schools to speak to the primary 7 pupils in advance of our annual open night. Altamuskin PS Deaglan, Ava & Eoghan all spoke from the heart about their journey so far in SCC. Shared Education
8MC enjoyed a fantastic day developing their entrepreneurial and leadership skills as part of our Shared Education Programme, supported by PeacePlus through the GR8 Project. During the first session, pupils took part in a range of activities designed to build confidence, creativity and teamwork. All-Ireland Club Final
We were delighted to welcome some players, management and committee members from cloghter Eire Ogs today, ahead of their All-Ireland Club final on Sunday! The Tyrone and Ulster cups also made an appearance. The vast majority of the team and management are past pupils and current student, Niall McKenna is also on the panel! We wish them good luck in the final in Croke Park on Sunday afternoon!


Stripe Young Scientist

Exceptional Academic Success

Each year, they run the Drummond Education Award Scheme to promote interest in high-quality practice in food and nutrition, and to recognise exceptional achievement by A-Level students and their teachers across the UK. Food Hampers
We have been gathering up annual hampers of donations for Dungannon Food Bank. It is a credit to the generosity of our school community that our front foyer has become a jungle of boxes since the middle of the week! Shared Education
As part of our Shared Education programme with Fivemiletown College, pupils had the opportunity to spread festive cheer during visits to local care homes including Copperfields, Clogher Valley Day Care and St Macartan’s. Pupils performed Christmas carols for residents and staff and shared homemade Christmas cookies, prepared by the pupils themselves, which were warmly received and added a special personal touch to each visit. Our Young Enterprise groups took part in a visit to St George’s Market as part of their Company Programme. The experience allowed students to see what running a business involves, develop their entrepreneurial skills, and engage with customers.


Carol Service
Well done to the Music and RE departments for the organisation of the recent Carol Service - Moments of Grace. It was lovey to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas!


Digital Futures
A group of our talented Year 9 pupils travelled to Belfast to take part in the Digital Futures Semi-Final! They showcased creativity, teamwork, and impressive digital skills while representing our school. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the positive attitude they brought to the competition. All Star Award
We are incredibly proud to announce that Erin Mc Ginn has been selected for the 2026 Ulster PPS Ladies All-Star Team. The 2026 squad represents outstanding talent from across the Province, with 23 schools and 9 counties included in the final panel. Congratulations Erin, a fantastic achievement and so well deserved!
