Stripe Young Scientist

Exceptional Academic Success
Huge Congratulations to Our Outstanding Student! We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic news from the British Nutrition Foundation. Each year, they run the Drummond Education Award Scheme to promote interest in high-quality practice in food and nutrition, and to recognise exceptional achievement by A-Level students and their teachers across the UK. We are delighted to announce that Eimear Quinn has been awarded the British Nutrition Foundation Drummond Education Awar


Food Hampers
We have been gathering up annual hampers of donations for Dungannon Food Bank. It is a credit to the generosity of our school community that our front foyer has become a jungle of boxes since the middle of the week! Thank you everyone for promoting and supporting this appeal, it will help so many local families this Christmas.

Shared Education
As part of our Shared Education programme with Fivemiletown College, pupils had the opportunity to spread festive cheer during visits to local care homes including Copperfields, Clogher Valley Day Care and St Macartan’s. Pupils performed Christmas carols for residents and staff and shared homemade Christmas cookies, prepared by the pupils themselves, which were warmly received and added a special personal touch to each visit. Young Enterprise
Our Young Enterprise groups took part in a visit to St George’s Market as part of their Company Programme. The experience allowed students to see what running a business involves, develop their entrepreneurial skills, and engage with customers.


Carol Service
Well done to the Music and RE departments for the organisation of the recent Carol Service - Moments of Grace. It was lovey to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas!


Digital Futures
A group of our talented Year 9 pupils travelled to Belfast to take part in the Digital Futures Semi-Final! They showcased creativity, teamwork, and impressive digital skills while representing our school. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the positive attitude they brought to the competition. Well done, girls — you are fantastic role models for our school community!


All Star Award
We are incredibly proud to announce that Erin Mc Ginn has been selected for the 2026 Ulster PPS Ladies All-Star Team. The 2026 squad represents outstanding talent from across the Province, with 23 schools and 9 counties included in the final panel. Congratulations Erin, a fantastic achievement and so well deserved!


Principals’ Recognition
Congratulations to Colleen McKenna & Amelia Loughran, both 10RK students, who were awarded certificates praising their English work by Principal, Mr Lavery. Both girls who are studying 'Animal Farm' crafted excellent persuasive speeches based on the novel, which were rich in techniques and style. Well done girls!


P2 Fundamentals Day
Our annual fundamentals day for primary school 2 pupils took place with PE staff, past pupils, and Year 13/14 sport pupils all taking part to show the Primary 2’s a brilliant fun filled day.


Christmas Market
A big thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Market recently and made it such a wonderful event. Thanks to all our vendors for supporting the market and bringing such a wide variety of products for people to purchase! A special welcome also to the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council Frances Burton. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening. Thanks to everyone who donated to and bought tickets for the raffle.


Jialingle All The Way
On Saturday the 13th of December 7 of our past pupils will be driving 7 Jialing 50cc mopeds (all identical) to make an 120 mile round journey from Galbally, Co Tyrone to Rossnowlagh beach in Co Donegal and back, within 12 hours. They will be to leave Galbally at 6PM and hope to return back in Galbally the following morning at 6AM. These 2 stroke mopeds wouldn’t be the most reliable so getting these bikes to complete this journey without a tool box with be a challenge alone,


Literacy & Numeracy Mentor Training
Our Post-16 students recently took part in literacy and numeracy mentoring training in Cookstown High School, equipping them with valuable skills to support younger learners. At St Ciaran’s, we believe education is about more than academic success, it’s about preparing students for life beyond school. By offering diverse development opportunities, we create a culture of learning, personal growth, and self-challenge that empowers every student to reach their full potential.


Sporting News
Netball Well done to our Yr 12 netballers finishing with silver medals in the Cup Finals. Having went undefeated throughout the day, it came down to the final game against Drumglass... and what a game it was! An equalising shot from Drumglass right on the final whistle levelled the game at 5-5 and score difference was called upon to decide the overall winners. The girls played excellently throughout the day, showcasing their great skill and talent Well done girls' Athletics W


St Ciaran’s Goes Pink
St Ciaran's recently held a staff coffee morning and a student cake and bun sale to raise much-needed funds for Action Cancer. The entire school community once again got behind this very worthy cause by donating buns and cakes and exhibiting their usual philanthropic spirit by donating generously. A Frank and Honest hamper donated by Centra CurrRoad was won by Aoife McGeogh, 9KS and the grand total raised for Action Cancer was £1032.43! Many thanks to the entire St Ciaran's c


Blood Brothers
Our GCSE Drama students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to The Grand Opera House, Belfast to watch Blood Brothers along with Fivemiletown College. Seeing the play live has given everyone a deeper understanding of the story and characters, helping them prepare for their upcoming written exam.


School Formal
Our Year 14 students truly shone at their school formal! It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up and enjoying the pre-evening gathering at the school. The atmosphere in the school hall was full of laughter, elegance, and pride - each student looked absolutely fantastic.

Netball Our Year 10 netball team won all of their games in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz and are now through to the Cup Finals! Our Year 11 netball team won all of their games today in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz. They are now through to the Cup Finals! The Year 12 netball team participated in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz. The girls won all of their games and played some excellent netball throughout the day! Bake With Me – Nomad
The Home Economics Department hosted "Bake along with me," featuring Helen from Nomad. We welcomed our special guest Helen - the talented owner of Nomad, a beloved local coffee stop, known for its homemade treats and speciality coffee. Students had the unique opportunity to bake alongside a professional, learning firsthand tips and techniques. The session was hands on, engaging, followed by a step-by-step, creating banana bread chocolate chip muffins that could rival any bake
